Prick ‘n A Pint is a men’s health program designed for men who want to live longer, healthier and happier lives.
By registering as a participant, men join a small team of mates who are keen to get the most out of their time on earth.
Participants are required to meet with their GP prior to commencing the program and complete a prescribed blood test. These results form the baseline of each man’s Prick ‘n A Pint experience and a reference point for their ongoing individual health journey.
The team of men meet monthly at the pub over ten months, for about an hour, between February and November. They are joined by a Prick ‘n A Pint GP who guides them through a series of short health sessions relating to their blood tests; explaining what ‘good’ looks like and what ‘bad’ looks like and what can be done to prevent a wave of unhealthy habits forming and crashing with serious consequences.
By applying new found medical knowledge to their own results, men determine what preventative actions need to be taken to reduce their risk of preventable illness and death.
Afterwards, the men and their GP catch up at the bar to relax with a complimentary pint of beer or soft drink and talk all things health or otherwise.
Prick ‘n A Pint does not diagnose men nor judge men. We simply provide expert information that allows men to make informed decisions about their own health. We believe absolutely in developing healthy social and medical relationships and we are committed to creating more meaningful conversations between men and within the medical system.
Prick ‘n A Pint is not for profit and the registration cost of $100 is used to deliver the program. Read our Privacy and Participation Agreement.
